Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 11-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Please contact the editor at or click here to obtain the article template for JIBA. Please register at the journal website and submit your manuscript. You may also send supplementary materials such as short video episodes.

The manuscript schould not have been published previously or should not be under consideration for publication elsewhere. Manuscripts should be original and written considering the academic and ethical rules.  Approval from the Ethics Committee for research should be documented and obtaining this approval should be stated in the manuscript. If accepted, the manuscript will not be published elsewhere (another journal) in the same form.

Manuscript Preparation

Please prepare your article based on the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (7th edition). General guidelines are provided below:

TITLE (Maximum 20 words)

Abstract: Summarize the goal and content of the activity, implementation, and conclusions. The abstract should be between 100-150 words.

Keywords:  Minimum 3, maximum 5 keywords.

BAŞLIK (Write the title in Turkish. The journal team will help with the translation if needed.)

ÖZ: Insert your abstract in Turkish. Limit with 100-150 words.

Anahtar kelimeler: Please write your keywords in Turkish.


Elaborate the goals and importance of the activity in relation to related literature. Please also write about how the activity addresses the curriculum standards (content or process).

Section titles should be written in bold and center with Times New Roman 12 pt. The article text should be single-spaced and typed in Times New Roman 11 pt. Please use a two-column layout in this section. 


This section includes information about how the activity was implemented with students. You may first provide some contextual information about the classroom and the students.

Please elaborate each step of the lesson (e.g. motivation, learning activities, assessment/reflection) including materials needed.   You may insert student worksheets, photos, or student conversations to illustrate the teaching/learning processes occurred in the classroom. The manuscript should include qualitative or quantitative data that illustrates students' learning process. If a worksheet essential to student learning is used, please provide a blank worksheet at the end of the manuscript for other teachers’ use.

The text should be single-spaced and typed in Times New Roman 11 pt. Please use a two-column layout in this section. 

Subtitle Heading

The subtitle should be left-aligned and bold, typed with Times New Roman 11 point. The first letters of the words in subtitles are capital.

Tables, photos, figures should be placed in the main text close to where they are mentioned. If needed, tables or figures can be inserted in one-column layout.


In this section, write a reflection on the lesson. You may offer suggestions for other teachers who may implement the activity.

The text should be single-spaced and typed in Times New Roman 11 pt. Please use a two-column layout in this section. 


Use APA 7th Edition to write the references. If you refer to your own publication, in the main text write Author (Year), and in the references section please write as follows. The text should be single-spaced and typed in Times New Roman 11 pt. Please use a two-column layout in this section.

PAGE LIMIT: Please limit your paper to 10 pages (excluding references and appendices).
