Abstract

The subject of this study is primary and complementary colours of light. In this study we designed 4 models and two worksheets. The aim of these teaching materials were to help the 7th grade students understand that white light includes all colours of rainbow; red, blue and green are primary colours of light, the complementary colours are cyan, magenta and yellow which are formed by combining the two adjacent primary colours; the primary and complementary colours of paint and light are different from each other. The designed teaching materials were tested with the participation of 17 students who are attending Marmaris İhsan Mermerci Primary School in the city of Muğla. It was determined that the developed models and worksheets were effective tools for teaching colours of light.
