Abstract

Sequencing events activity emphasizes such aspects of nature of science as the role of observation and inference in the construction of scientific knowledge; theory-laden nature of science; the tentativeness of scientific knowledge; and the role of creativity and imagine in the construction of scientific knowledge. During the activity, 50 pre-service teachers asked for coming into ‘scientist’ groups and sequencing 13 pictures-provided in micro-level meaningfully to structure an event. The researchers’ observations showed that there are differences in scientist groups’ preferences in sequencing and these preferences alter frequently. Having discussed that these preferences represent the scientific knowledge, pre-service teachers realize their own schema and their understanding of nature of science.
